As managing director of applied artificial intelligence, JT Kostman leads the development and delivery of artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, blockchain, and advanced analytic solutions and services for the firm and Grant Thornton clients. A prolific author, teacher, and speaker, JT delivers keynotes and lectures around the world, including institutions such as Columbia University, Reimagine Summit, and The Influencer Series. In 2016 he was named an IBM Think Leader.

Before joining Grant Thornton, JT evaluated acquisition targets and provided strategic and operational guidance for portfolio companies as a member of the board of advisors of Reimagine Holdings Group. Previously, he served as chief data officer and a member of the executive committee for Time Inc., chief data scientist for Samsung, and chief data scientist and big data psychologist for Aptus Insights. In addition to his corporate experience, JT has served U.S. intelligence, security, and defense agencies, including the CIA, FBI, and DHS, as well as President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. He has also held teaching positions focused on leadership, strategy, and organizational change at City University of New York, Baruch College; Manhattanville College; Rutgers University; and University of Connecticut, Storrs.
